Crosby was a gentle giant with a one-of-a-kind personality who loved to play tug with his pet guardian, Don. In 2020, Crosby went in for a routine allergy shot, when his vet found something that looked like a tumor. After further examination, Crosby was diagnosed with Anal Gland Adenocarcinoma, an uncommon cancer in the walls of the anal sacs. Don opted to have Crosby’s tumor removed, but shortly after the surgery, the vet discovered that the cancer had returned.
After the second surgery, Crosby suffered from severe diarrhea & GI issues. Don took Crosby to three different vets, who prescribed different medications, tried accupuncture, and administered massage. He was motivated to find anything to help ease Crosby’s discomfort.
Then, Don found Medicus. Within the second feeding of the Bland Diet, Crosby’s diarrhea was completely gone. After two weeks on the Medicus Bland Diet, Don transitioned Crosby to the Medicus Sensitive Stomach Diet. After a month on the Sensitive Stomach Diet, not only did the diarrhea stop, but his energy returned, and his weight went back to normal.
In the time that followed, Crosby got to enjoy his favorite things again — morning walks, sitting in the front yard keeping watch on the neighborhood, and plenty of belly rubs.
Crosby eventually crossed the rainbow bridge in 2024, deeply loved by the family who knew him best.
