Bailey is a black & tan hound with a big voice and even bigger job. She is a nationally certified scent-specific trailing dog and helps locate missing people. She’s worked with local law enforcement, the FBI and other agencies.
Bailey was diagnosed with leptospirosis, a bacterial infection caused by Leptospira bacteria, spreading through contaminated water or urine, often in flood-prone areas or stagnant water sources. This lead to kidney complications.
Bailey was in intensive care for a week the doctors were not overly optimistic when it came to her kidney function. This did not give guardian Tammy Hansen much hope.
That’s when Tammy’s good friend and veterinarian Dr. Barbara Fox introduced her to Medicus.
